Successful Outcomes Start with the Right Choices

Establishing an estate preservation plan starts with discussing your generational estate goals with a knowledgeable estate planning attorney. Unfortunately, too many people forget that an estate plan should be part of your entire family law picture. Writing a last will or establishing a trust without really understanding how the laws will affect the administration of your estate upon  your death could mean future probate problems for your spouse and heirs. It can also spell serious legal problems if your marriage dissolves.

At the estate planning and probate law office of Charles D. Stark, I will take time to fully discuss your current financial situation and will explain how California family law affects the distribution and administration of your estate. Start your estate plan by hiring a lawyer who can help you fit all of the pieces together. Contact my Santa Rosa law office for help with estate planning or with administration of Sonoma County Probate or trust estates.

I am attorney Charles D. Stark, and I have more than thirty years of experience helping people understand how the law affects their lives, and their future. After we have established a clear picture of your estate, we will discuss how wills, trusts, and other estate planning options can help you meet those goals.

I also assist clients with the trust, probate, or estate administration process. Clients who are estate administrators are generally charged with accounting for the estate's assets, paying creditors, liquidating property, and distributing the assets according to the will or trust. I help clients with the management, valuation, sale, and/or distribution of family owned businesses or closely-held companies. I prepare court documents and accountings, as well as, prove the will or defend it in a contest if necessary. I also aid clients in determining the tax liabilities of the estate, as well as, how proper administration might mitigate some of the estate tax burden.
